comedy-short-filmEarlier this year, I got together with some friends and shot a short comedy. It took a few months to plan but just one day to shoot.

Several months have passed since then. Plenty of people have asked how it’s coming along. I’ll tell ya.

Last weekend I spent some time editing the short film. I was already in editing mode, cutting together a short sample of the new documentary I’m working on. So it was easy to open the short comedy and put in an hour or two on it.

I’m happy with how it’s coming along. I tweaked a bunch of stuff. The entire thing flows much better. I now have end credits, which makes it feel more official and closer to completion.

The film still needs sound mixing, color correcting, and a few more minor changes. It’s in good shape, though. I want to spend some more time on it so we can wrap up the project and finally share it with folks.

There’s good motivation, too. The 2013 filmSPARK call for entries was recently announced. They have a July 1st deadline. I’m seriously considering it.

This short film was an experiment. I’ve blogged about that a bunch already here, here, here, and here. I feel like it was a very successful effort. If nothing else, at least my family understands how much effort goes into making a film because they’ve now seen the process first-hand. That’s priceless.

I’m anxious to share this with you kind folks. Stay tuned.
