I’m so sad. Today is the last day of the Full Frame Documentary Film Fest. I write this from my phone while it charges, waiting in line to see a “secret” documentary.

Yesterday was an incredible day. And incredibly long. I was literally doing fest / film stuff from 8:00 am to 1:30 am the following morning — and being “on” all day. Whew, buddy.

You know what, though? I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love this fest so much.

I attended two Speakeasy panel convos, one on producing and another on TV programming for documentaries. The Speakeasy convos are one of my favorite parts of the fest because I get to hear about what’s happening in the industry from some of the most respected folks in it. (If you missed them, don’t fret. Full Frame usually puts them on Vimeo after the fest.)

What films did I watch yesterday? A lot of them! Here’s a list:

– Hip Hop Fellow
– Happy Valley
– Two clips from works in progress (Garrett Scott Doc Dev Grant)
– In Country
– The Case Against 8

They were all incredible. I’ll be sure to elaborate on them next week. It’s tough to do from my phone, especially with autocorrect changing the word “phone” to “goo” for example.

After watching my last film of the day I went to the Saturday night party. As part of the social media volunteer team, I got to ask people about their experiences at Full Frame this year and tweet a bit. I was in heaven. I feel like I could do that even better next year, too.

Today has already been an exciting / packed / emotional day. I’m catching some of the films I missed by attending the encore screenings. So much fun.

More to come, my friends. Thanks for letting me share my Full Frame 2014 experience with you! Much love, y’all.
