Asheville Brewing by Camden Watts

Brewconomy, my newest documentary which is about North Carolina craft beer, will have its Asheville, N.C., premiere on Thursday, July 23rd, at the Asheville Brewing theater.

To make the independent, feature-length film we spent several weekends in Asheville, N.C., interviewing craft beer industry leaders in the area. We talked with brewery owners, writers, festival managers, and hops farmers to capture the excitement and changes that have happened in the state since the mid-1990s. We are so pleased to return to Asheville, N.C., with the finished film.

If you live in Asheville or the surrounding areas, please join us on Thursday, July 23rd, at 7:00 PM, or 10:00 PM, for a screening of Brewconomy and a local craft beer. We would love to watch the film with you and hear your feedback afterwards.

If you do not live in the Asheville, N.C., area, I highly recommend you spend a long weekend there. The area has so much to offer. Visit exploreasheville.com to get tips for planning your trip and ask me for any suggestions. My husband and I honeymooned there years ago, and we have returned every year since.

It is a great honor to return to Beer City USA with our independent documentary film about craft beer in North Carolina. We could not make this film without all of the generous support from our core team, Kickstarter backers, and the kindness of everyone we met in Asheville, N.C. Thank you all.

PS: Know someone that should see Brewconomy? Please send them this post and encourage them to sign up for free email updates. We have more screening events in the works, and look forward to sharing the news soon.
