Welcome to Part II of the Sierra Nevada self-guided tour in Mills River, N.C. (If you missed Part I, you’ll find it here.)
As you enter the main entrance, you’ll see a sign for the self-guided tour. You can sign in and go up the stairs to start walking through the building.
Stairs to the self-guided tour.
Stairs to the self-guided tour are lined with chalk board wall paper filled with beer art
As you walk up the stairs, you can look over the banister and see this gorgeous desk. There’s a living plant wall behind the counter. It’s gorgeous.

No detail is overlooked. The banister has hops on it.
At the top of the stairs you can look over the banister to see the chalk board wall art you passed on your way up. It gives you a chance to see the bigger picture. You can also get a closer look at the beer bottle chandelier!

After you reach the top of the stairs, you can take a right down a long hallway.
The hallway is lined with beer-inspired art, history, and decor. It’s pretty much my dream-come-true. I loved everything about the design, lighting, and installations.
Take a right at the top of the stairs to go down the self-guided tour / hallway.
Hallway for the self-guided tour
Bags of ingredients used in brewing serve double-duty as a noise absorbing wall
The hallway is lined with cabinets that are filled with beer-related memorabilia.
Every few feet there are wooden benches. This is unconfirmed but I believe these are made from wood that was cut down on the property where the building now stands.
Guided tours include a beer tasting in this awesome taproom.
Take a close look at the details of the tasting room design. The lights are made from barrels.

At the end of the self-guided tour there’s a cat walk so you can peek into the beer bottling and packaging process.
We included clips of it in Brewconomy so see if you can spot things that looks familiar
