My next short scripted film, tentatively titled “AK,” is making more progress this week.

I’ve had some really exciting meetings and conversations about it. I wish I could dish on all the details but it simply doesn’t make a lot of sense to share everything here right now. So many things evolve during pre-production; I don’t want to mislead you or give you the wrong impression.

But I can share a few things…

At the encouragement of a wonderful friend, I finally mustered up the courage to revisit the screenplay I wrote last summer. I’ve obviously got to finalize the screenplay ASAP so we can share it with the team. I think we’re there.

This week I also talked with some awesome folks about shooting locations.

One of our original locations looks like it might fall through, which can happen. So I’m working out details on another location that might work perfectly. It may be easier to load/unload equipment and shoot in this new location, so I’ve got my fingers crossed that we can get it worked out.

We’re also working hard to secure a parking garage. My director of photography (DP) sent a few photos of a location that made me absolutely drool. I really hope we can get it. It’s sexy. (H/T to my DP who can make even a parking garage that gorgeous.)

I met with two of my main actors this week, too. They’ve been working on choreography. It’s cool to see their excitement, hard work, and preparation leading to the shoot. I’m absolutely thrilled about working with them!

Our behind-the-scenes (BTS) crew is also looking good. I’ve got a few trusted people in place, and am super thankful to have their help. It’s the first time I have had a BTS crew, and I know we’re going to do some cool stuff with what they shoot.

With the cast and crew coming together, the pressure is on.

There’s a lot of work to do. I love it.

Want to be a part of the film?

Ways you can get involved are listed here.

Use the comments and talk to me, too. Tell me what you want to know about the film or the filmmaking process. Tell me what would make you really excited to contribute to the production funds so we can make the film great.

Thanks, always, for following along and sharing your encouragement! You have no idea how much it is truly, deeply appreciated.

Keep chasing your dreams, my friends!
