Josh Mills and Zach Abrams at one of the first filmmakers networking events I organized.

When I started making Abandoned Allies, I knew little about filmmaking. What helped me most was talking with other filmmakers about the process, and how to survive a project with my sanity in tact. Out of that experience came a desire to organize events where filmmakers can do that in person. A time and place where people can chat while drinking excellent beer, eating delicious food, and supporting local independent businesses.

With help from Jim McQuaid, who manages the Triangle Filmmakers Special Interest Group, I will be putting together another filmmakers networking event. We’ve set a date, time, and location with help from some key folks. We’re working on a few final details, but plan on breaking the news soon.

When it’s ready, I’ll share the Eventbrite page so you can register to attend. It’s free to attend, and I hope to keep it that way. More news soon.
