Last night we hosted an informational session at Bull City Burger & Brewery (BCBB) in downtown Durham, N.C. We were on the back patio drinking, eating, and chatting. I loved meeting our Kickstarter backers for a pint!

I got the chance to briefly talk about Brewconomy: why we’re making it, what it’s really about, and where we are in the filmmaking process. It was fun to share that with people who are excited to see the film.

Brewconomy at BCBB

At the info session Seth Gross, owner of BCBB, spoke about his business. I’ve been so impressed with what they do. If you weren’t there last night to hear Seth speak, you missed out! You can, however, go to the BCBB about page to read about what they believe.

We interviewed Seth last year when we first started shooting Brewconomy. During the interview Seth talked about why he started the business, how their processes are better for our environment, and how he’s creating jobs that people really want. Here’s a clip from that interview about the camaraderie in the brewing community.

At the event last night new folks joined the Brewconomy Kickstarter backer team. Some folks increased their pledges so they could get t-shirts since we have a new LAST CALL backer level ($65). Others said they couldn’t offer cash, but they’d be sure to tell their friends about the campaign. All of those things are absolutely incredible!

I said it last night and I’ll say it again here: all Kickstarter contributions will go towards making Brewconomy an incredible film. Even though we met our initial fundraising goal this week, we welcome all contributions. Every single dollar will go towards making the film. Thank you all for continuing to give to the campaign!

The Brewconomy fundraising campaign ends on Monday, February 24th at NOON. You still have time to join the backer team. You can get rewards like bottle openers, pints, digital downloads, t-shirts, autographed books, and even private brewery tours. Not to mention exclusive behind-the-scenes backer updates during the filmmaking process; things that I won’t share here.

Join the team. We’d love to have you! Here are some photos to entice you, my friends.
