marbles-IMAX-brewconomy-screening

The premiere of Brewconomy, my new documentary about North Carolina craft beer, sold out in less than two days!

It is such an incredible honor to work on this film and premiere it at Marbles IMAX during N.C. Beer Month — much less have it sell out so quickly. We have so many people already on the wait list, too. I feel like the luckiest filmmaker in the world.

You loyal readers, followers, friends, family, and filmmakers honor us so much. I’m humbled by the amazing response the film has already gotten. I can’t wait to share Brewconomy with you all, and sincerely hope it honors everyone involved. We’ve poured so much into making this film the best we possibly can.

But. We aren’t finished yet. We have a lot of work ahead of us.

This morning we had a screen test at the Marbles IMAX Theatre using the official Brewconomy trailer. We’re looking for accurate color, great picture quality, and synched sound. It takes a lot of work to get to this amazing milestone.

Seeing that trailer with everyone’s hard work on the big screen for the first time is a wild emotional ride. I totally teared up! I am so honored to share this film in one of the best theatres in North Carolina.

In case you missed the trailer, here it is again:

Immediately after our screen test this morning I chatted with Bob Walters. We recorded an interview for Das Beer Show. It’s always a pleasure to chat with Bob, who also runs Local Film Talk. I’m so happy he’s giving locals a platform to talk about their work and what happens behind the scenes. It helps other aspiring creatives find their path.

This afternoon I’m busy tackling a long to do list for Brewconomy. Tomorrow we will have a meeting about final sound mix. We’re still working on final color, music, end credits, and DCP creation. We also have a lot happening with Kickstarter backer rewards, outreach, and additional screenings.

To say that we’re busy? Yes, that’s an understatement. I’m doing my best to keep up with everything, and enjoying this wild ride.

A lot of people ask me about how to stay in touch on projects or get involved in upcoming efforts. One of the best ways to do that is by signing up for free emails below. I share upcoming events, needs, and exciting news there so you’ll never miss a thing.
