Alice Fest is happening on Sunday, March 1st, starting at 1:30 pm, in Durham, N.C., at the Full Frame Theater. It’s free and open to the public. Reservations are required.

Why attend Alice Fest?

One of the things I love about Alice Fest is the sense of community. The films that screen are fantastic, and there are usually great conversations afterwards. I always leave feeling inspired and empowered.

Plus, it helps me stay focused.

You know that I absolutely love the awards season. But women continually get left out of the nominations, and that gets me down sometimes. Alice Fest helps me remember that it’s not about those awards, even though they’re helpful for a film career.

It’s time to get to work. There are people telling great stories. There are audiences hungry for those stories we’re aching to tell. The awards will come around again next year. Right now, we have more important things to focus on.

If you’re interested in compelling stories, this is the place to find them. It’s free to attend. Some of the storytellers are living and working right here in the Triangle, too.

Come join us.

Bonus: Sugar Cookies

Perhaps you’ll enjoy the added enticement of sugar cookies? I’m baking and decorating cookies for the festival this weekend, and hope you’ll come give them a taste!
