Neil Berkeley and Wayne White: Beauty Is Embarrassing via KCRW’s The Treatment with Elvis Mitchell (bit.ly/PhNuFp)

Earlier this year I enjoyed watching Beauty is Embarrassing at the 2012 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. (Love that festival!) I was so happy to watch a happy documentary! Most of them are so serious, you know? Not a bad thing … it’s just nice to have a laugh every now and then, eh?

Anyway, the movie is about Wayne White, an artist with a great sense of humor. It made me totally adore White, and realize how critical he has been in my artistic journey. White is one of the guys who made PeeWee’s Playhouse so memorable. He designed most of the puppets on the show, and was the voice for some of them as well. He also worked on the Smashing Pumpkins music video. He’s just a really cool, laid back guy–he seems like he’d be so much fun to be around.

KCRW’s The Treatment just had Wayne White and filmmaker Neil Berkeley on the show. I really enjoyed hearing about their friendship and their creative process. Thought you might enjoy it, too! See the film! It’s wonderful!
