Last weekend was the 2024 Meredith College Documentary Film Festival in Raleigh, N.C.

It was such a pleasure to be back on the Meredith College campus, where I learned so much in my undergrad program. I wish they had this festival while I was a student.

The festival featured the following films.

Following the screenings, we had a panel discussion with the filmmakers. I love hearing filmmakers talk about their work, process, challenges, and lessons learned. It has long been one of my favorite things. This group of filmmakers went through so much to produce their work.

Panelists were Cole Frederick, Kim Best, Ed Foster, Holly Holder, Kristi Johnson, Jinna Kim, and Jaki Shelton Green.

Many, many thanks to everyone at Meredith College who make the festival possible each year. I always leave feeling so inspired and ready to work. This was especially helpful because I gained a lot of clarity on what I need to do next with Picturing Pigs (working title), editing our rough cut, and raising funds for production in 2024. Special thanks to my friends / team for joining me at the festival. It was so lovely to have you there!

The Meredith College Documentary Film Festival is presented by the Meredith College Department of English with cooperation from Carlyle Campbell Library.
