Filmmaking is so challenging. I think that’s just one of the reasons I’m so in love with it. Filmmaking and I are like a couple that argue so loudly one minute and then make out in public the next. It’s worrisome, confusing, and endearing — all within the span of like five minutes.
Once upon a time I had a job once where a coworker told me that we would basically be building a plane while flying it. It seemed like madness then but I totally get it now. That is indie filmmaking most days.
It’s also one of the reasons this commercial makes me chuckle. It shows just how ridiculous it would be to literally build a plane while flying it. Yet some of us do that (metaphorically) all the time. It takes patience, strength, and courage. I can dig it.
