Bought this book last weekend when a friend pointed it out. Research continues!

Last weekend I spent some time in Brevard, N.C., with friends. It was a much needed girls weekend full of nail painting, gabbing, laughing, and — of course — some craft beer drinking.

Last year we toured Oskar Blues (remember this post?), so this year we decided to try Brevard Brewing Company. I drank their oatmeal stout while my friends enjoyed their lagers and pilsners. It was wonderful to experience a new brewery with my friends to see how they enjoy and appreciate beer.

One friend even pointed out the book Brewed Awakening, which I bought immediately. It came in handy later when we were all discussing cask beers and what defines them. Not to mention the differences between cask beers in the U.S. versus what’s served elsewhere in the world. Fascinating stuff!

I left the weekend feeling like one lucky girl. To have so many kind, smart friends — especially ones that enjoy craft beer as much as I do! We had such a great time in the mountains together.

So my work on Brewconomy continues! We have our Kickstarter launch party at Raleigh Brewing in Raleigh, N.C., this Friday evening Then the next 30 days will be filled with campaigning so that we can raise enough money to make this film amazing. I need a lot of help and I’m really looking forward to building a big team of supporters for this very special film. Cheers, y’all!
