There’s a great saying. It goes something like this, “If you want to make God laugh, then tell him your plans.” This sums up my life in so many ways.

I make big plans. Rarely does anything go according to plan. But almost always, it turns out way better than I imagined.

Now I tend to make plans with the keen understanding that everything is subject to change at a moment’s notice. Those plans may go out the window. And that’s OK.

It’s helps a lot with being an indie filmmaker. Or maybe being an indie filmmaker helped me come to terms with it. (Was it the chicken or the egg that come first?) Either way, I’m grateful.

Suffice it to say that I’ve got big plans for 2016. We’ll see how it goes, eh?

Here are some of the things on the books.

Brewconomy

We’re screening the film at the Meredith College Documentary Film Festival on Sunday, January 24th. (Get more info on that here.)

There’s still a lot of demand to see the film nationwide, so we’re working on digital distribution. It may take some time for these details to come together, but the goal is putting it on DVDs / Blu-Rays, VOD, and online streaming.

Taking care of our Kickstarter backer rewards has been a big part of my fall, and we’re this close to having it wrapped up now. There are a few more promises to keep, so I want to tackle that as soon as possible.

We also have a little celebrating to do, now that the film’s finished and screening. I look forward to having the Brewconomy team together soon!

The TriFilm Society

There are so many great things planned for the TriFilm Society in 2016.

Running this organization is one of the ways I pay it forward for my fellow filmmakers. Helping others isn’t purely altruistic; it brings me so much joy!

We have loads of events, membership benefits, and new opportunities on the books. Scope out our calendar page for more info on these events:

If you’re a filmmaker who wants connections, resources, and opportunities then the TriFilm Society is here for you. Learn more and sign up for free email updates at trifilmsociety.com.

Two New Short Films

Yes, there are two new films on the books next year. One is a short scripted film with a fight scene. The other is a short documentary film about a local artist whom I admire.

Pre-production isn’t a sexy stage of filmmaking, so I haven’t shared a whole lot about these new pieces yet. You’ll hear a lot about them in 2016, though. I’ll share info on the blog and social media (specifically Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).

Exclusive behind-the-scenes info will be shared via monthly email updates, which you can sign up for right here. I share  stuff that I hope inspires you.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW?

So there you have it. Now you know some of the big things I have planned for 2016.

Now I’d love to hear more about what you want to know. Use the comments to suggest what I can share on the blog next year. Do you want to know more about my life as a filmmaker or specific behind-the-scenes information? Please tell me so I can cater to your interests!
