comedy-short-film

This week has been a fun one. I’ve spoken with several people about the short film I’m working on, and all is moving ahead well. I’m so stinkin’ excited about this short film that I can hardly stand it. I want to do it NOW!

Patience, patience…

This short film is super exciting. It’s giving me a chance to produce something I’ve written. That means I get to see my idea come to life — with the help of a director, cinematographer, stylist, and actors.

I get to think about the big picture as a producer, shepherding the project through each stage of the filmmaking process. I get to work with fun people, meet new fun people, and build working relationships that make the work even more fun. I also get to continue building my portfolio while working on something a little lighthearted and funny. Uhmmm, it’s pretty much a dream come true.

(I’m so excited! Have I mentioned that I’m excited? I’m excited!)

Once we put in a few more pieces to this puzzle, I can share more details. I know I’ve been a little vague, but it’s because projects change during pre-production. People drop out of a project because of scheduling issues. Others join. Those things happen, you know? It’s easier to share details a little later — at least that’s how I feel at this particular moment in time.

Last night’s pre-production meeting was wonderful. We did some blocking, equipment planning, and team building stuff. I even had a beer. (My first since the new year because of my resolution, remember?) It was a really productive and fun evening. I’m looking forward to the rest of the month, for sure. More details soon!
