Alice Fest returns to Durham, N.C., on Sunday, March 10, 2019! What is Alice Fest? Alice Fest is a one-day film festival. The tagline is “Films by women. For everyone.” It is typically held in March in honor of Women’s History Month in the Full Frame Theater in Durham, N.C., in association with the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. Alice Fest is free and open to the public.
Durham, N.C., is so close to Raleigh, N.C. I’ve loved Durham for years – mostly because of the time I’ve spent downtown for the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival each spring. It’s one of my favorite places and times of the year. I lovingly call Full Frame my film school because it has taught me so much. (Random side note for out-of-towners: there’s no such thing as Raleigh-Durham. They’re very
The 2016 Meredith College Documentary Film Festival – originally scheduled for January 24th – got snowed out last month. Most of the area was covered in snow and ice, and thousands of people were without power. The festival has thankfully been rescheduled for Sunday, February 14, 2016. I’m incredibly honored to be back on campus talking about

Last year I attended the Beericana Craft Beer and Music Festival as part of my research for Brewconomy, our documentary about North Carolina craft beer. We were in post-production at the time but, as many of you know, the craft beer industry changes on a daily basis. Attending the fest was a huge help because it meant I could sample beers from across the state without the production expenses of traveling or bringing a film
Great news! We have another TriFilm Society social scheduled for Tuesday, June 23rd, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The social will be held at The Frontier. There will be light refreshments provided so please register below to attend. At the social I’ll talk about the progress made on TriFilm Society membership. I’ve been working hard on a lot of exciting things, very few of which have been shared anywhere else. I
